• weight-bearing ambulation support for temporary conditions

• wide base needed for ambulation
• crutch may easily disengage if hands are needed

Procedure

use of crutches

• fit similar to cane
  • ensure room at the axilla (1-2 inches) when standing
  • weight should be distributed to hands, not axilla
• need good upper extremity strength
• axillary/forearm/platform
