Etiology
- damage to the posterior commissure
- hydrocephalus resulting from aqueductal stenosis
- pineal region tumors (germinoma, pineoblastoma)
- cysticercosis
- stroke
Clinical manifestations
- ocular gaze palsy (supranuclear)
- inability to look up
- pupils with slow reaction to light & brisk convergence
- eyelid retraction, no ptosis
- downward ocular deviation
