Introduction
A thin band of white matter, crossing the midline of the brain beneath the habenular commissure & above the cerebral aqueduct.
It consists largely of fibers interconnecting the right & left pretectal region & related cell groups in the midbrain.
Dorsally, it marks the junction of the diencephalon & mesencephalon.
