Introduction
Examples of procedural memory include:
- knowing how to swim
- knowing how to solve a puzzle faster the 2nd time you are exposed to it
- knowing how to play the guitar
Pathology
- impaired by lesions in the basal ganglia or cerebellum
- impaired in Parkinson's disease & in Huntington's disease
Physiology
- procedural memories may be stored in the basal ganglia
