Introduction
A set of processes that occur in parallel within a selectively distributed network.
Features:
- phonology: sound structure of language
- syntax: architecture of sentences, clauses & phrases
- morphology: formation of words through binding of affixes
- semantics: meaning of words
Notes
- use a professional medical interpreter if you can not communicate with patient
- do not rely on family members unless professional medical interpreter is not available[4]
- turn-taking language interactions with toddlers age 18-24 months associated with higher IQ & language scores through middle-school[1]
