Introduction
Changes in behavior resulting from damage to frontal areas of the brain, or from damage to connectivities of the frontal lobe.
Etiology
Clinical manifestations
- mania[2]
- diminished self control, foresight, creativity & spontaneity
- increased irritability, selfishness, restlessness
- lack of concern for others
- concentration is often diminished
- measureable deterioration of intellect or memory is often not present
- emotional dullness
- aggressiveness
- impulsiveness
- boastfulness
- temper outbursts
- silly humour
- unrealistic ambitions
- changes depend on previous personality
Management
- prognosis: recovery is possible & may continue for years
