Function
- protection of the head of the humerus, thereby preventing its superior displacement from the glenoid cavity of the scapula
Structure
- an extrinsic, structure formed by the acromion & the coracoid process of the scapula
- the coracoacromial ligament lies between the two
Pathology
- participates in impingement syndrome in association with the head of the humerus
