Introduction

Multinucleated contractile muscle cells.

Size: < 10 um - 100 um in diameter, < 1 mM - several cM in length

Fibers consist of sarcoplasm & cross striated myofibrils.

Skeletal muscle fibers may be red, white or intermediate
