Introduction
A crackling, crunching, grinding, grating noise or fine bubbling sound (rales), as if surfaces were rubbing against each other.
Etiology
- osteoarthritis (joint crepitus)[2]
- discharge of gas from the intestine (bowel crepitus)
- gas gangrene
