Introduction

Results:

• both dual & ventricular pacemakers improved quality of life
• 25% of patients receiving ventricular pacemakers developed pacemaker syndrome & required dual chamber pacing
• dual chamber pacing associated with better quality of life
• no different in mortality
• dual chamber pacing associated with 18% lower incidence of atrial fibrillation
