Introduction
Smaller than the anterior papillary muscle, may consists of several parts.
- arise from the inferior wall of the right ventricle
- tendinous cords attach to the posterior & septal cusps of the tricuspid valve
Posterior papillary muscle in left ventricle is larger than the right ventricle, because the first works harder.
