Introduction
Two scandanavian randomized control studies:
Studies termininated in Dec of 2003
Design:
434 women, survivors of breast cancer with menopausal symptoms
- 219 randomized to receive hormone-replacement therapy (HRT)
- 215 controls, without HRT
Results:
- 26 women in HRT group experienced new breast cancer events vs 8 in control group (relative risk 3.3)
- serious adverse events more common in HRT group (8 vs 4)
