  • use of the Low Risk Ankle Rule* may limit unnecessary X-rays in children[1]

* tenderness & swelling isolated to the distal fibula &/or adjacent lateral ligaments distal to the tibial anterior joint line (lateral ankle including & below lateral malleolus) defines low risk ankle
