Etiology
Pathology
- excessive motions of the subtalar joint resulting in ligament injury, synovitis & infiltration of fibrotic tissue into the sinus tarsi space
Clinical manifestations
- anterolateral ankle pain
- feelings of instability with pronation & supination movements of the subtalar joint
Management
- balance & proprioceptive training
- muscle strengthening exercises
- bracing, taping, & foot orthotics
