Introduction
The upward continuation of the anterior part of the posterior longitudinal ligament.
- forms a 'roof' over the median atlantoaxial joint
- covers the alar & transverse ligaments
Attachment
To the upper surface of the basilar portion of the occipital bone & the bodies of the 2nd & 3rd cervical vertebrae.
