Introduction

Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) vs carotid artery stenting (CAS)

Primary outcome: prevention of stroke, myocardial infarction or death at 30 days, or an ipsilateral stroke during a 4 year follow-up

Entry criteria: > 70% carotid artery stenosis with a history of TIA, non-disabling stroke or amaurosis fugax
