554 patients with COPD

St. George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) used to assess quality of life measures using a 0-100 point scale. Visually-Simplified Respiratory Questionnaire (VSRQ) also used

FEV1 & FVC also measured

Results:

  • after 9 months, 59% of Tiotropium group with 4 point improvement in SGRQ vs 48% in placebo group
