Indications
- evaluation of acute myocarditis[1]
Clinical significance
- a neutrophil count/lymphocyte count > 4 more frequently presents with LVEF < 50% & worse clinical condition (need for inotrope support, glucocorticoids, or hemodialysis)
- independently associated with the primary outcome of all-cause mortality or heart transplantation (RR=3.25)[1]
Increases
- history of dyslipidemia, chronic kidney disease, or autoimmune disease[1]
