Etiology

• neurocardiogenic syncope (most common in a young person)
• orthostatic hypotension (most common in an elderly person)
• carotid sinus hypersensitivity (elderly)
• long QT syndrome (often family history)
• hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (often family history)
