Etiology

• scintigraphic pattern observed in radionuclide bone scans,
  • sternocostoclavicular hyperostosis (SAPHO syndrome)
  • pustulotic arthroosteitis

Radiology

• high tracer uptake in the sternocostoclavicular region
  • the manubrium of the sternum represents the upper skull
  • the inflamed sternoclavicular joints correspond to the horns
• creating a bullhead-like appearance
