- organoids are grown in a lab from stem cells or tumor cells[1]
Indications
- modeling tool to investigate mechanism of cancer metastases
Procedure
- involves growing miniature 3D replicas of organs harboring tumors derived from a person's cells
- can be grown in 60% of cells from patients with cancer[2]
