Introduction
- lucid dreaming is the phenomenon of experiencing waking levels of self-reflection
- person realizes they are dreaming while asleep[2]
- person may have some control over how the dream unfolds
- the person is generally an active participant in the dream
- lucid dreaming is most common during REM sleep
- lucid dreaming may share a causal link with sleep fragmentation[1]
