Introduction
- hypothesis that symptom leads to greater reliance on congnitive resources
- for example, hearing loss necessitating greater use of cognitive resources during listening or auditory perceptual processing
- the effort of listening leads to depletion of cognitive reserve, thus diverting cognitive resources from other tasks resulting in an increased risk of dementia[1]
