Drug interactions
- patients using fluticasone with HIV1 protease inhibitor (ritonavir) risk iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome due to inhibition of CYPA4 by ritonavir further increasing 1/2life of fluticasone & serum levels[1][2]
Management
- replace fluticasone with beclomethasone or budesonide as these glucocorticoids are safer to use with HIV1 protease inhibitors (ritonavir)[1][2]
