Clinical manifestations

• generally take benzodiazepines as prescribed
• have no desire to stop due to perceived benefits
• rarely use benzodiazepines in harzardous situations
  • but may underestimate psychomotor skills on driving
• do not use despite physical or psychological harm
  • but may fear anxiety or insomnia as to risk falls
