Indications

• evaluation of myocardial ischemia
  • baseline ECG is abnormal
  • information on an area of myocardium at risk needed

Contraindications

• left bundle-branch block
• exercise intolerance

Adverse effects

• radiation exposure

Procedure

• computed reconstruction of images obtained from myocardial tissue uptake of Tl-201 or Tc-99 before & after/during exercise
• gating & correction for attenuation with Tc-99
• late perfusion imaging to evaluate myocardial viability with Tl-201
