Clinical trials

• UK's National Health Service (NHS) is to pilot a simple blood test that may detect > 50 types of cancer
• pilot will include 165,000 people to start mid 2021,
• pilot will include 140,000 persones age 50-79 years without symptoms to have annual blood tests over 3 years
• results are expected by 2023
• one of tbe goals of the pilot is determine whether cancers may be diagnosed at an early, more-treatable stage
