Etiology

• ankylosing spondylitis
• psoriatic arthritis

Pathology

• clinically heterogeneous group of children including some who have predominately enthesitis, enthesitis & arthritis, juvenile ankylosing spondylitis, or inflammatory bowel disease-associated arthropathy

Clinical manifestations

• arthritis
• enthesitis
• acute anterior uveitis
• axial disease is also common (spondyloarthritis)

Management

• NSAIDs
• disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs
• biologic agents
