Etiology
- minor neck trauma, overuse or unaccustomed activity
Clinical manifestations
- neck pain, worse with movement of head
- limited range of neck motion
- tenderness of paraspinal neck muscles
- no radiation of pain down arms
- no arm weakness or paresthesias
- no cervical spine tenderness
- Spurling test may be positive
