Etiology
- inflammatory bowel disease[1][2]
- most commonly ulcerative colitis[2] -less commonly Crohn's disease[2]
- in rare cases, no inflammatory bowel disease found[2]
Epidemiology
- rare variant of pyoderma gangrenosum Patholoogy:
- intraepithelial abscesses with large amount of eosinophils
Clinical manifestations
- characterized by oral involvement with 'snail-track' erosions
- facial involvement is uncommon
- more indolent course than pyoderma gangrenosum
