Indications
- treatment of acute or chronic infections due to sensitive strains of certain Gram-negative bacilli, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- bronchiectasis with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection[2]
Contraindications
- not FDA approved for use as a liquid to be inhaled via nebulizer - once Colistimethate is mixed into a liquid form, it breaks down into other chemicals that can damage lung tissue
- I-neb adaptive aerosol delivery system apparently ok[2]
