Etiology
Pathology
- complete transverse myelopathy involves bilateral, anterior & posterior spinal cord at 1 or more levels
Clinical manifestations
- paralysis (bilateral) below the level of the lesion
- loss of sensation (bilateral) below the level of the lesion
- sphincter dysfunction with loss of bowel & bladder function
- loss of reflexes at the affected level
- hyperreflexia, positive Babinski sign
