- as part of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, & cardiac scintigraphy will require documentation of appropriate use prior to payment
- radiologist must document the referring physician has done so
- documentation will be through a computer-based clinical decision-support mechanism
