groups C & G beta-hemolytic Streptococci
Epidemiology
- most frequently colonizes intestines, genital tract
- less commonly, ecnountered as skin flora
- capable of causing infeciton both humans & animals
Pathology
- spectrum of diseases resembles that of Streptococcus pyogenes
