Clinical significance
- Becton, Dickinson & Company (BD) vacutainer blood collection tubes have tube stoppers that contain a substance called thiuram that can sometimes release sulfur-containing gases, which may dissolve into the blood sample and bind the lead particles, affecting lead in blood measurements
