Indications
- evaluation of invasive breast cancer
- assessment of need for chemotherapy[4]
Contraindications
- not useful for ductal carcinoma in situ[2]
Clinical significance
- women with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer with < 4 positive lymph nodes & low risk scores on the breast cancer 21 mRNA expression analysis have a favorable prognosis with anti-estrogen therapy alone & do not benefit from chemotherapy[2]
