Introduction

Syndrome of acquired neuropsychiatric symptoms in older age sustained for at least 6 months

Pathology

• precedes mild cognitive impairment

Clinical manifestations

• disturbances in:
  • apathy, diminished drive, motivation
  • mood, affect, anxiety disturbance
  • impulse control disorder, agitation, reward distubance
  • disorder of social appropriateness
  • disorder of thought, perception
