brief resolved unexplained event (BRUE)

Diagnostic criteria
- event lasting < 1 minute in an infant that is associated with at least one of the following:
- cyanosis or pallor
- absent, decreased, or irregular breathing
- marked change in muscle tone
- altered level of responsiveness
- infant must otherwise be well-appearing & back to baseline health at presentation & have no condition that could explain the event
Laboratory
Diagnostic procedures
Management
- other testing or monitoring not recommended
- hospitalization solely for cardiorespiratory monitoring not recommended[1]
