Procedure

• the caregiver & patient are asked to describe a behavior, its context, & potential triggers
• caregiver collaborates with caregiver & other members or team to implement plan*
• 5 domains of intervention strategies
  • caregiver education
  • enhancing effective communication between the care giver & demented patient
  • creating meaningful activities for the demented patient
  • simplifying tasks & establishing structured routines
  • ensuring safety & simplifying & enhancing the environment
