Notes
- FDA has proposed including the % daily value for added sugars to nutrition labels of packaged foods.
- new labeling required by July 2018[2] to include:
- serving sizes closer to the amount people actually consume in a sitting.
- calories & servings section more prominent
- both per serving & per package calorie & nutrition information to be listed
- information on added sugars to be included
- new daily values for sodium, dietary fiber & vitamin D to be included
- % of daily value for vitamin A & vitamin C to be removed since these vitamin deficiencies are rare
- calories from Fat to be eliminated, although information on total, saturated, &trans fat to be included
