- acute acalculous cholecystitis
- patients at high risk for cholecystectomy[1]
- for use as a bridge to laparoscopic cholecystectomy in septic patients[2]

Procedure
- percutaneous procedure places a catheter draining the gallbladder
Complications
- relapsing acute cholecystitits (12%)[1]
