physician quality reporting system (PQRS)

Introduction

The 2006 tax relief & health care act required establishment of a physician quality reporting system. Incentive payment for eligible physicians who report data on quality measures for Medicare-covered services included.

* Eliminated & replaced with the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
