Clinical manifestations
- characterized by the amount of body surface area burned, specific body part(s) involved*, & depth of the burn
- superficial, 1st degree burns are erythematous
- 2nd degree burns may blister on an erythematous base
- 3rd degree burns appear white or yellow & are no-nblanchable
* face & perineum may need higher level of care[1]
