amastigote (Leishman-Donovan body)

Introduction

Intracytoplasmic, non flagellated form of intracellular parasites, including Leishmania & Trypanosoma. Originally used in reference to Leishmania donovani parasitic forms infecting spleen or liver in kala-azar.
