Etiology
- degenerative: idiopathic
Epidemiology
- up to 7% in some populations
Pathology
- abnormal splitting of the retina's neurosensory layers, usually in the outer plexiform layer
Clinical manifestations
- usually asymptomatic
- rarely, loss of vision in the corresponding visual field
