Indications
- symptomatic relief of discomfort associated with hemorrhoids & perianal itching or irritation
Contraindications
pregnancy-category +, ? (Anusol-HC)
Dosage
Ointment or suppository BID/TID PRN.
Anusol contains 1% pramoxine HCl.
Anusol HC includes hydrocortisone:
- apply cream every 6 hours PRN or suppository BID.
Ointment: 1 oz.
Pharmacokinetics
elimination: Not absorbed
Adverse effects
- most common (1-10%)
- itching, dryness, folliculitis, hypopigmentation, contact dermatitis, burning, irritation, secondary infection

- glucocorticoid
- inhibition of nerve impulses
