Introduction
systolic blood pressure + (2 X diastolic blood pressure)/ 3
Normal range: 70-100 mm Hg
* mean arterial blood pressure of >= 50 mm Hg may be needed to maintain consciousness[2]
* target mean arterial blood pressure of 80-85 mm Hg to prevent need for renal replacement therapy in patients with chronic hypertension in septic shock[3][4][5]
