Introduction

The dose & plasma level of a pharmaceutical agent sufficient to produce pharmacologic effects, but low enough to minimize toxicity. For some drugs, the window that allows pharmacologic activity, but minimizes toxicity is said to be narrow. For these drugs, therapeutic drug monitoring is frequently indicated.
