Introduction
Tradenames: Cetacaine.
Indications
- topical anesthetic to relieve pain & gagging
Dosage
(aerosol)
- apply to affected area for approximately 1 second
0.5%, 56 g.
Adverse effects
- dose-related & may reflect high plasma levels
- not common (1-10%)
- uncommmon (< 1%)
- methemoglobinemia in infants, tenderness, urticaria, edema, urethritis
