- evaluation of pyruvate kinase hyperactivity
Notes
- leukocytes must be removed from the sample, because
- leukocytes normally contain 300 fold as much pyruvate kinase as do erythrocytes
- it is the erythrocytes that are deficient in pyruvate kinase not the leukocytes
